Project Overview

Cleshar designed and built the Silwood Sidings Permanent Way and Civils works as part of the London Overground Capacity Improvement Programme (LOCIP). • Installation of sidings lighting and access to drivers’ walkways, incorporating 320no. lighting columns, and 350no. lighting bollards, and 49no. CCTV cameras and posts.
  • Installation of new DC Module located adjacent to the sub-station at New Cross Gate and a new cable installation to Silwood.
  • Installation of cable troughing and cable route management to facilitate the LV, Traction Power, Signalling and Communications.
  • Installation of 10no. walkways to the sidings, retaining structures, access stairs, acoustic barriers to facilitate planning, with the CBC accommodation building and outbuildings and carparking.
Innovations

By implementing an open and collaborative approach with the LOCIP Delivery Team and the project sub-contractors, Cleshar were able to produce a detailed solution from the client’s conceptual designs and enable integration between our project teams and all sub-contractors. Our engineers integrated design information from both the client and supplier systems using Computer-Aided Designs and made the final design solutions available to the client’s representatives, project teams and all sub-contractors.

Benefits / Project Outcome

The immense success of the Project was attributable to the collaboration between the client, designers, and contractor in delivering Silwood Sidings from wasteland to a flagship development within agreed programme milestones.
